A comprehensive test program was carried out in collaboration with the EPA (the relevant regulatory authority in the USA) to demonstrate how safe Saltidin® is. The studies show that Saltidin® has no negative effects, and it was concluded that it:
- is safe when used as indicated
- is extremely gentle to the skin and not sticky
- has no irritating or sensitizing potential
- has a minimal rate of absorption
- is suitable for children aged 2 and over
The effect of Saltidin® on various materials, like plastics, synthetics, plastic coatings and sealing compounds has been tested, as well. It was found that Saltidin® - in contrary to other insect repellents - has no adverse impact on these materials.
The cosmetic properties of Saltidin® have also been tested. The results were remarkable: the formulations are not sticky, and have a pleasant feeling, being at the same time safe to use on the skin, as long as the instructions for use are followed.
